The 2017 blend is shaped by a challenging start to the year, where early spring frosts were followed by a hot, dry summer that resulted in the ripest Chardonnay grapes since 2000. Chef de Cave Vincent Chaperon utilized an unprecedented 61% Chardonnay in the final assemblage, drawing primarily from the Grand Cru of Chouilly to achieve a wine of remarkable density, exotic character, and "zero-gravity" fluidity. It is a Champagne of textural resonance, balancing creamy contours with a subtle, noble bitterness.
