This Premier Cru is from Henri Gourorbe is one of the most important growers in Champagne. A wonderful and memorable Champagne from this artistic family.  Champagne Henri  GOUTORBE is a family-owned Champagne house, situated in the renowned Grand Cru village of Aÿ, in the heart of the Champagne region.  Ay is considered to have the best soils for growing grapes and was rated 100%, which made it a grand cru village. Aÿ is therefore rated higher than all its immediate neighbours. Other Champagne houses that control vineyards in the village include Bollinger, Moët & Chandon, Mumm and  Perrier-Jouët,

The vineyards are predominantly south-facing and the quality of the grapes, which are harvested manually, is a result of the careful selection of the best vines.  Best soil –- best vines . . .   the Champagnes from Henri Goutorbe are exceptional.

Nose  "Fine and scattered bubbles - invitations to keep your ears open and let yourself be rocked by the sensual tempo of the effervescence"Intense and radiant with crescendos of red and black fruits with a tremolo of subtle spices - a powerful hymn to the majority of Pinot Noir 67%. Later the Chardonnay (33%) expresses its delicate notes of apple, pear and citrus fruits.

Taste  Citrus fruits gently embrace the red fruits in an endless symphony.  Great length on the palate. The maturity of the Champagne is unveiled at last.  The perfect blend between fragrances of honey and pastries are a result of the long ageing on lathes in bottles before disgorgement.
