Henri Gourorbe is one of the most important growers in Champagne.  This special Grand Cru Champagne is a beautiful old Champagne which is near perfect.  The bottle itself looks amazing with a pewter label but the Champagne itself is so very good. A lush blend of brioche, apple, pear, with a touch of honey. Just the right amount of yeast on the nose to entice you into more. Perfect as an aperitif as the sun sets on a warm autumn day when you want to share a special bottle with friends who are lucky to get a sip!

Champagne Henri  GOUTORBE is a family-owned Champagne house, situated in the renowned Grand Cru village of Aÿ, in the heart of the Champagne region.  Ay is considered to have the best soils for growing grapes and was rated 100%, which made it a grand cru village. Aÿ is therefore rated higher than all its immediate neighbours. Other Champagne houses that control vineyards in the village include Bollinger, Moët & Chandon, Mumm and  Perrier-Jouët,

The vineyards are predominantly south-facing and the quality of the grapes, which are harvested manually, is a result of the careful selection of the best vines.  Best soil –- best vines . . .   the Champagnes from Henri Goutorbe are exceptional.

Notes of browned butter, roasted almonds, caramel, coffee, biscuits, rye, and dark chocolate. Slightly oxidation, sherry notes. Soft perlage.
