Red Wines
Covering everything from Cabernet to full-bodied wines, red wine is made from red grapes and involves red grape skins in the winemaking process. Perfect for pairing with meats, cheeses and smoky notes.
Cabernet Sauvignon: A classic, full-bodied red wine known for its deep flavours of red and black fruits. A much-loved, versatile international black grape variety with a characteristic profile of cedar, blackcurrant leaf, luscious cassis, pencil shavings and graphite, Cabernet Sauvignon is celebrated the world over for its beautiful, deep-coloured red wines.
Malbec:A black grape variety used to produce full-bodied, deep coloured red wines with a wonderful spiced dark fruit character - displaying signature notes of blackberry, black plum, clove and pepper.
Merlot:This black grape exudes elegance and balance- a variety that produces a plethora of silky reds and rosés. Merlot is known for its deep purple colour, soft, velvety tannins, and rich flavours of blackberry and plum.
Pinot Noir:Pinot Noir is producing unique and unforgettable wines the world over. It can come in many different styles and offers something for every wine lover. A black grape variety that is often known for producing slightly paler red wines, from light and fruity wines with notes of raspberry, strawberry, and red cherry, to more complex styles that take on spicy and earthy notes.
White Wines
From light-bodied wines to full, oaky Chardonnays, white wines are made from white grapes or yellow grapes. Perfectly paired with fish, chicken and lighter dishes.
Sauvignon Blanc: This is one of the few grapes that is almost instantly recognisable on the nose, even for the newest of wine buffs! Citrus fruity flavours led with lime as well as green apple, passion fruit, and peach. A very distinctive fragrance.
A light-bodied white wine with crisp acidity and notes of green apple, tropical fruits and passion fruit, this concoction is fantastic with goat cheese, seafood and light salads — arguably one of the most refreshing white wines around. Sauvignon Blanc is a world favourite for wine lovers.
Rosé Wines
Rosé wine is quickly becoming the go-to tipple for many wine lovers. The traditional process of making blush wine has elements of both red wine and white wine production – adopting the same fermentation process as red, but at the same temperature as white.
Made by extracting colour and flavour from red grape skins, producing a pink-hued beverage.Primarily from sun-drenched regions like Provence in France, as well as in South Africa and other wine regions worldwide. Rosé wines can be dry or lusciously sweet, and they're versatile enough to pair with appetisers, soft cheeses and dips.
Sparkling Wine
Sparkling wine is a broader term encompassing any wine with bubbles, regardless of origin or production method. Including Champagne and Prosecco, the key to sparkling wine production to trap the carbon dioxide so that it dissolves into the wine, creating bubbles. The bubbles are produced during the secondary fermentation.
Champagne
While all Champagne is sparkling wine, not all sparkling wine is Champagne. Champagne can only be produced in the Champagne region of France using strict production methods and regulations.
